The Series IIIA 1958-60 was a face-lift of the earlier Minx Series II powered by a larger 1494cc engine with new grille, tail fins and floor change, with bigger brakes and available with a Semi-Automatic option on the 1960 cars. The Series IIIB 1960-61 added a hypoid rear axle. The Series IIIC 1961-63 received a larger 1592 cc engine
Until 1962 the Series III was built as a Saloon, Convertible or Estate.
