The TVR Vixen is a hand built sportscar produced in four series between 1967 and 1973. The body was made of glass fibre, which was fitted to a tubular-frame chassis with double wishbone suspension at both ends, and disc brakes at the front (with drums at the rear.) and lighter and more responsive than its main competitors.

The Series 1 spanned model years 1967-68 built as n evolution of the discontinued 1800S. Although it used the same chassis as the outgoing car, the significant change was the use of the 1599 cc Ford Kent engine of 88bhp. The bodywork was also slightly revised, with the bonnet having a broad flat air intake scoop. The rear of the car with fitted with the round Cortina Mark I tail lamps - Total S1 production 117

The Series II was introduced in 1968 running through to 1970 with a slightly longer wheelbase it shared with the V8 Tuscan. The bonnet was restyled with some early cars having a prominent central bulge, and later cars having twin intake ducts at the front corners of the bonnet. The tail lamps were updated from the round Cortina Mark I style to the newer wraparound Mark II style. The body shell was thicker with better fit and bolted rather than bonded to the chassis the interior was refreshed. In 1969 two sports models were introduced the 100bhp S2 Sports and the 115bhp S2 Super Sport - Total S2 production 438

The Series III of 1970-72 brought more detail change, with heat extraction vents on the flanks behind the front wheels were decorated with "Aeroflow" grilles borrowed from the c-pillars of the Ford Zodiac Mark IV and the Ford engine was now the same tune as the Capri with 92bhp. Finally the S4 an interim model that used the TVR M Series chassis with the Vixen body shell was built in 1972 - S4 Production 23
