Allard Motor Company stemmed directly from the concept of Sydney Allard's pre 2nd World War trials special which had a divided axle independant front suspension on a Ford V8 frame. Its trials exploits led to orders for replicas, and most of the early cars came with big Ford V8 engines. Allard set up in Clapham, London, post war cars were more civilised but came with US Chrysler/Cadillac V8's. A smaller Palm Beach model was added as demand for the big V8's started to wain and production ceased.
