new year, old friends! - a photo on Flickriver

            Of course I can't be 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure this is the little fawn I saw back a few months ago, so late in the season. Judging from it's size I would say this is about the developmental stage that baby would be now.
 I had been worried that it wouldn't survive with the oncoming winter, being as small as it was. I guess it was a blessing for it that the weather has been so mild for this time of year. He seems well fed and healthy looking. I could see Mom and a few of her friends further back in the woods. 
Makes me feel good to know that it's doing so well.
