Waiting to Cross the Mara River in Kenya (Explored)

Zebras and wildebeest wait by the river’s edge until some of the braver animals start the crossing.

During the migration between Tanzania and Kenya, crocodiles are lining up in the river to catch as many wildebeest and zebras as they can get. The zebras go across first because they have better eye sight than the wildebeest and can assess the threat better. When the zebra decide to cross the river everyone else follows. Zebra mothers and their young cross first before anyone else, because the crocodiles are not upon the herd for a few minutes, giving the young the ability to cross in relative safety.
