'The Golden Grove' is a catamaran and commenced service on Sydney harbour in 1985.
It was named after the 'Golden Grove' vessel which was part of 'The First Fleet' to arrive in Australia in 1788. The original 'Golden Grove' was built in Whitby (England) in 1780 and was first named the 'Russian Merchant'.

This ferry is quite special to me because when my daughters were little, I would take them on great adventures on this ferry from the city to Mosman Bay, where we would have picnics, and play in the park at Cremorne Point, before catching this ferry back across Sydney harbour. I have many pictures of my daughters in the bow of the ferry with the wind blowing their blonde hair in all directions as we swept across the harbour aboard 'The Golden Grove'.
