            Rik Annerel is a Belgian sculptor and graphic designer. He aspires to the greatest purity, simplicity, essence and perfection in which materials and conceptual patterns meet and overlap. The compositional solutions are based on the ordered principles of a mathematical form language - the square, the cube, the cylinder - but just as essential are the contrasts, the shifts and the recesses of the forms in the surfaces; repetitive and reflexive nature; the interaction between mass and vacuum and the tension between light and shadow.

Rik Annerel is een Belgisch beeldhouwer en grafisch vormgever. Hij streeft naar de grootst mogelijke zuiverheid, eenvoud, essentie en perfectie waarin materiële en conceptuele drijfveren elkaar ontmoeten en overlappen. De compositorische oplossingen steunen op geordende beginselen van een mathematische vormentaal – het vierkant, de kubus, de cilinder – maar even essentieel zijn de vormcontrasten, verschuivingen en uitsparingen in de vlakken; het repetitieve en reflexieve karakter; de wisselwerking tussen massa en leegte en het spanningsveld tussen licht en schaduw. 
Dit werk kan bewonderd worden in Lokeren aan de Grote kaai.

Il aspire la plus grande pureté, simplicité, essence et perfection dans lesquelles les motifs matériels et conceptuels se rencontrent et se chevauchent. Les solutions compositionnelles sont basées sur les principes ordonnés d'un langage de forme mathématique - le carré, le cube, le cylindre - mais tout aussi essentiels sont les contrastes, les décalages et les recoins des formes dans les surfaces; la nature répétitive et réflexive; l'interaction entre la masse et le vide et la tension entre la lumière et l'ombre.
