ADDITIONAL NOTES.
This tank is from the same batch of 10 detailed in the previous upload, (see previous image for full history). In the 1970's when BR moved the vehicles into departmental service most had the TSL lettering painted out but B 749650 seen here survived in near original 1966 condition when the wagons had ceased to be used by Petrochemicals Ltd and reverted to TSL red and grey colours. Most of the tanks ended their days at BR traction & maintenance depots either on the London Midland or Western Regions for diesel fuel or waste oil storage. This particular example was used to carry Sodium Metasilicate between Bristol Bath Road Depot and Gloucester Depot. I believe the dissolved compound was used as a cleaning agent but I stand to be corrected on that front.
