47 320 passing Shrewsbury Coton Hill Yard. 1981.

            A grandstand view from the castle battlements sees 47 320 passing under Ellesmere Road bridge with Shrewsbury Coton Hill Yard to the right filled with a good assortment of rolling stock. In the near right foreground is the now closed Castle Foregate Goods Depot with a ferry box van and bogie ferry wagon loaded with timber boards. In the distance to the left of the mainline to Chester can be seen Coton Hill North Signal Box which had closed on 05/12/1977 but was still standing at this date.
47 320 is working an empty steel train from Dee Marsh Yard to South Wales taken in the mid afternoon. It is either an additional or early running 4V33 14.28 Dee Marsh to Llanwern.
