Melted Water Tanks

            This was taken at the top of Highway 168 where the lanes narrow to two lanes.  The Creek Fire jumped the highway here and destroyed a number of homes on the Southern side of the road.  You can see the amount of work that has already taken place by the firefighting crews.  

My daughter and I were thinking that if the melted water tank had water in it, it probably helped the area from burning worse.  I remember seeing the owner of Cressman's General Store on the news commenting on how many fire fighters were driving past his store and how proud he was to see them.  The next day the fire tore through here and destroyed his historic store.  It will be quite awhile before this area rebuilds and regrows.
