► █░▓   ALWAYS LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE

THIS MAY BE the worse side of this solid building overlooking the main street. But there is more to this small condo than meets the eye. The flats above are still in use, the entrance behind now serving as the main one. A quarter of a century ago there had been offices here, I won't name the owner. Besides, I'm sure the balcony fence collapsed only due to many a winter of heavy snowpack pressuring against it. The balcony itself has not collapsed. 

I use a kind of excuse when approaching people I'd like to photograph. I tell them I aspire to take and post a positive photo of each day. It is not a lie, really. But I thought I have completely failed on the last day of the last winter month in 2023. The weather wasn't bad, we even had some sun in the morning, turning overcast against the end of the day, but I only came up with this. A shame! 
It turned out however that the building is still being used. So there you have it. The day's doses of the affirmative. It's raining cats and dogs as I write this on April 1st, and it's not a joke. 

The real reason behind posting this image is to brag. The handheld 1,6 second exposure (setting up the tripod I had on me looked overkill and the attention raised that way wouldn't likely be appreciated by the locals). Convinced  that I had failed with the almost 2 sec handheld shot, I found a firm support for the camera, changed the ISO from 100 to 200, opened up the aperture, used 2-second shutter release delay and underexposed for ⅓ of a stop. This all shortened the shutter speed five times. But the results were not nearly as sharp as this, first exposure at ISO 100, handheld without any camera support.
