Vigoleno, l'ingresso del borgo - Vigoleno, the village entrance

            Vigoleno è una frazione del comune di Vernasca, in provincia di Piacenza. E’ un esempio di borgo fortificato medievale di particolare bellezza, pervenutoci fortunatamente intatto in tutte le sue parti; fa parte dell’associazione “I borghi più belli d’Italia”. Collocato sul crinale tra la valle dell'Ongina e quella dello Stirone su un rilievo di non elevata altezza (350 m s.l.m.) gode di un ampio panorama sulle vallate e colline circostanti.

Vigoleno is a hamlet of the Vernasca village, in the Italian region called Emilia Romagna, in the territory of Piacenza town. Vigoleno is an example of middle age village with its original walls: it is located on an hill not very high, but nevertheless from the tower of its castel (visible in the photo) it is possible to see a wide view on the surrounding hills.
