            Saipan is the largest and most populous island in the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The rocky Mariana Islands, which includes the CNMI and the separate U.S. territory of Guam, are the peaks of a mountain range rising from the Marianas Trench, the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean.

Saipan, located about 120 miles north of Guam, is about 12 miles long and 5.6 miles across at its widest point, with a land area of about 45 square miles.

The island's western side is lined with sandy beaches, protected by a sheltering coral reef that creates a large lagoon. The eastern shore is composed primarily of rugged, rocky cliffs and a reef. This collection of miscellaneous images, made in October 2025, was taken with a Galaxy smartphone.
