rio grande chirping frog (Eleutherodactylus cystignathoides)

            Frog on a leaf, I like. Looks pretty much just like the ones in Santee, got the eye stripe and all. The cat had been going after it.

5/24/15 Update - Finally got the id. There is an odd song that I hear at night around here. The neighbor told me it was tree frogs. So I listened to every frog found in Lafayette's song, and it is this species. I don't hear any of the other frog songs.

It does well in the suburban environment and is expanding its range. It was first found in Lafayette in 2007.
