03 017, 03 154, 37 084 & 03 175 King's Lynn

            Taken in very poor light, this is King's Lynn fuelling point forty years ago on the afternoon of January 3rd 1981. 
At one point around 1960, up to eight Class 03s were based here for use in local yards and the docks. 03017 was one of the original eight, but 03175 arrived in 1977 and 03154 in 1980. 03017  (out of shot in the shed) was withdrawn in February 1982 and the other two in 1983 by which time Class 08s had taken over the remaining duties here. 
37084  was March based and was equally likely to work a passenger to London, or a sand train to Doncaster on the following day.
