I am big and scary! Happy Wing Wednesday

            For those who kindly follow my photostream, it would be all too easy to think that this was just another Galah shot in our backyard. But no, these beautiful birds which are endemic in Australia really can be found almost anywhere. 

The area around Lake Broadwater is just perfect territory for them, Eucalyptus trees abound for hollows for nesting and plenty of shade and meeting places, abundant water and grasses for seeds for food. This one has just spotted me and letting me know who is in charge. 

They are not aggressive and as anyone who has read my adventures with large numbers at home, they are dear things with funny characters and personalities.
