This beautiful Orb Weaver Spider has set up shop in a difficult position in our backyard. There was no way I could plant the monopod (gave up on hand held) in a big patch of Agave with who knows what resting underneath it (Brown Snakes are rife at the moment). It's from the side and despite dozens of shots it was still a difficult ask to get one reasonable image, but I couldn't resist such a beautiful little creature.

This is the female, compared to the male that I saw yesterday which looked blue and not much bigger than the head of a pin, she is enormous!
