During the last month, we have been introduced to all the local juvenile Australian Galahs that have been born since late winter and early spring. Their crests (which by the way make them a cockatoo not parrot) are a richer pink, often erect while their chest and neck feathers still have a lot of light grey in them. Eventually, they will turn pretty much rich pink. The little ones are starting to feed themselves although some are still very noisily demanding food from their parents. Like children, they are very trusting, happy to get very close to us while munching some seeds and also, like kids, quite hilarious in their antics. This one appears to have black eyes, making him a little boy. Needless to say, while they do take up quite a bit of time, we love them to bits.
