Heritage listed underground Spring Hill reservoirs. Brisbane Open House.

The two heritage listed underground reservoirs are behind the Old Windmill on Wickham Terrace, Brisbane.

They were commissioned in 1871 and 1882 respectively. Water was piped from Enoggera Dam in the north western suburbs. They have had somewhat of a checkered history, closing in 1886, reopening in 1905 and being finally decommissioned in 19(2 when they could no longer effectively serve new high rise buildings in the city, suffering from low capacity and low elevation.

They were reconditioned and have roofs built over them during their history but are better really not open to the public. They commenced use for opera in 2014.
