Garrowhill Primary, Glasgow - a photo on Flickriver

            In just a few brief weeks' time, the curtain will finally come down on the life of Garrowhill Primary School's fine 1938 school building. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to moving to our state of the art multi million pound new build but can't help feeling a bit sentimental for the old schoolhouse. 
Many original 1930s features remain, such as the fine granite paved corridors, the metal framed windows and classroom doors. 
There are many superb Victorian school buildings still in use in Glasgow, several of which have (quite rightly) received costly upgrading. Garrowhill is an increasingly rare example of the 1930s building programme. There will be nothing left of it, so it's only right to walk around now and record some images from its silent corridors.
