I have spent three weeks photographing two families of dippers on the Irwell. It has been a labour of love and I have loved every minute of it. On this occasion I opted to try a very slow shutter speed to make the water look milky or mercurial.  1/6th sec, ISO 100, f22 @700mm fl. The problem is keeping the rig steady and hoping the bird does not move. After many attempts this is the only image I made where the bird was acceptably sharp. I would have preferred a more violent stream.
