Green on green

            In Costa Rica one is constantly encouraged to be environmentally friendly.  For each light switch there is a little reminder to turn off the light when it isn't needed and save electricity, and each faucet has its own reminder that every drop counts.  This despite the fact that there is no shortage of either electricity nor water in the country.  It is just the "greenest" country in the world.
So I guess it is appropriate that there are a large number of green parrots around.  Unfortunately they were rather camera shy, so this is the best I could do.  I like the composition and colours though.

This photo was taken just outside the hotel I stayed in.  Small towns have their perks.  
Come think of it, I photographed some green parrots just outside the hotel I stayed at in San Jose too.  And San Jose only qualifies as a small town when compared to gargantuan towns like LA.

I'm not sure what breed these parrots are.  Will have to check.
