Narrow Minded

            When originally opened in 1890 the original City & South London Railway, which ran from City to Stockwell, was the first deep level underground railway in the world. Clapham Common became the southern terminus for around 25 years from 1900 when the original C & SLR was extended. This extension included four stations which had a single narrow platform - Angel and Euston in the north, which have subsequently been rebuilt, and Clapham North and Clapham Common in the south. In 1926 the line extended south to Morden.
 
My photo was taken just after 6 o’clock in the morning so not too many people were about, imagine what it must be like at busy periods!
