Feeling Blue - a photo on Flickriver

Feeling Blue

            Built by Brush Traction in 1965 as D1890 until 1973 when it was renumbered under the TOPS system to 47 371. In 1997 the loco was eventually withdrawn by Freightliner. Subsequently re-emerging onto the railway network as class 57 313 it worked for Arriva Trains Wales. Now operated by West Coast Railways the loco retains it's Arriva blue livery and is seen crossing the river Thames on the West London Line with a Steam Dreams excursion from Horsham to Ely. Steam traction was to take over at Acton Lane, Willesden from where the Cathedrals Express was to be powered by 'Black Fives' 44871 & 45407.
