Barnsley. - a photo on Flickriver

Barnsley.

            Midland Main Line Meridian Class 222 No 222011 arriving at Barnsley with 1F01 0643 Derby to Barnsley 4th June 2004.

A scene which has now completly changed. Jumble Lane signalbox which the train is passing had been closed for six years when this picture was taken (even though the windows are open) it was demolished in spring 2005, the picture is taken from the signalbox which replaced it.
The train is to work the Barnsley to London service which no longer runs, the level crossing now has very little traffic across it (other than pedestrian),and the Bus station in the background has been completely rebuilt.
