            The PT-19 that was used to train pilots during World War II was an upgraded training aircraft that succeeded earlier biplane trainers. It featured a more advanced design, offered greater speed, and performed more like combat aircraft. Furthermore, the PT-19 was cost-effective, relatively easy to maintain, and highly reliable. With the outbreak of World War II, thousands of PT-19 aircraft were incorporated into training programs across the United States. After the war, many PT-19 aircraft transitioned into private ownership.
