Alabama, Cullman, Ratliff Grocery Co., Jim Dandy Feeds / Yukon's Best Flour (15,918)

            The Ratliff Grocery Company was one of many wholesale and warehouse businesses that were located in the vicinity of 1st Street and 1st Avenue in Cullman.  Most of those businesses were gone in 2014.  However, most of the buildings have been renovated and housed a variety of small retail businesses and restaurants.   

Ratliff was a distributor for Jim Dandy Feeds, an Alabama company that made note of that fact in its advertisements.  In a 1941 advertisement in the "Tuscaloosa News," the Alabama connection was noted--"You can't go wrong when you buy Jim Dandy Feeds.  They're made right here in Alabama by Alabama people from the product of Alabama farms."

Ratliff also was a distributor for Yukon's Best Flour that was produced by the Yukon Flour Mill in Yukon, Oklahoma.  The Yukon Flour Mill was founded around 1902 and was in business up to 1970 when it was bought by another milling company.
