Postcard from the War Front? - a photo on Flickriver

Looking very much like an old postcard sent by Great War soldiers to their families at the beginning of the twentieth Century - but it isn't! It's a photograph taken in 2015 and digitally altered.

Paying a brief but very welcome visit to Beamish Museum that year was this magnificently restored 1914 London General Omnibus Company "B-Type" bus, decked in the livery as applied when it went of to play it's part on the Western Front in World War 1. The bus is B2737 and is registered LH-8186. Here it is seen on the cobbled town street at the museum.

When the First World War broke out in 1914, bus B2737 was commandeered for the war effort along with 1,000 other buses - almost a third of London’s fleet at that time.
