Victorian Express Bus Service! - a photo on Flickriver

Making good speed through Beamish Museum is a Victorian London horse bus, hauled by a Shire and an Irish Cob. The stern faces of the driver and passenger suggest that they are determined to prove that they can outrun the electric tram that runs beside them.

The vehicle, believed to have been built around 1890, is owned by London Bus Preservation Trust and is on long-term loan to the museum. More details can be found at www.lbpt.org/fourseat.html
