What cats live for IMG_2272 - a photo on Flickriver

            I found this in my archives and, although I apparently ignored it before, I suddenly liked it, so I messed with it liberally, and here is is for Slider's Sunday.

I named it "What Cats Live For" because that high level of intense, piercing concentration, immersed and absorbed in analyzing a situation, focused entirely on prey or danger, is what cats do best, I believe. I can almost feel the adrenaline coursing through her body. I think that a cat who is deprived of danger, who never gets to feel the rush of adrenaline, who never gets to use their lightning fast reflexes, is not living a true cat life.
But that's just my opinion.

This is my Lulu, about ten years ago when she was still a kitten, who had never yet set foot in my house. She was a feral kitten abandoned by her mother, and only gradually tamed and domesticated. She still lives most of her life outside, by choice, although she is snuggled next to me, here inside, at the moment.
