Safeway of South Petherton AEC Reliance / Willowbrook FPC 15J.

            Typifying all that was pleasant about Independant country bus operation. Having thrashed the Hillman Imp to overtake the bus, the effort was rewarded with this capture. Again I can't remember exactly where it was, but the attractively liveried AEC Reliance with Willowbrook body looks just perfect in the surroundings. From memory the bus is not far from it's home town of South Petherton having commenced it's journey at Yeovil. FPC 15J was new to Safeguard of Guildford, it is a 'medium weight' Reliance with AEC's own 8.2 litre AH505 engine and six speed 'constant mesh' (almost crash) gearbox.
