I have always liked moving water, and love to take long exposures to make the movement turn the water into flowing strands of silk. I'm generally only able to do that in the forest in streams and waterfalls. While I like Tennessee a great deal, it is significantly lacking in the ocean department. It is only rarely I get to go to the ocean, and then it is generally further south where it is hard to get much interesting movement in the water.

One of my favorite places in the world is the Schoodic Peninsula. The rocky shoreline is unlike anywhere I've ever seen, and every time I go to Maine, I try to make it there. This time, I was able to take advantage of an overcast day and make some images on the rocky shore. I have thought about getting a Singh-Ray variable neutral density filter, but have not done so yet, so I stopped down all the way, dropped four stops with two neutral density filters (.3 and .9) and dropped a little more with a polarizing filter. Enough to get a long enough exposure to get the effect I was looking for, but I foresee a Singh-Ray Vari-ND in my future.
