St Peter's, Park Lane, Norwich, Norfolk

            Finally the boards no longer wish us Seasons Greetings but tell us of the joy of living in Chapters.  Work is slowly progressing on the site.

The Park Lane Methodist Church was built in 1939.  This very large site which includes a Church Hall and Boys Brigade building was acquired by The Interesting Building Company who are developing  20 properties on the site.  The shell of the existing buildings will be retained.

The church by Cecil Yelf is based on the Methodist Church in Hendon which is an impressive art deco building flanked by large blocks  of flats and set back on a much wider road. There was much local opposition to the scheme which was finally approved.
