Lythrum salicaria " Robert " - a photo on Flickriver

            Our garden is now over thirty years old and pretty well established. The only downside to this is there is less opportunity to add new plants unless something dies or just doesn’t work in a particularly spot . I had no room this year to even grow Sweet peas I am going to remedy this for next year by removing a Holly bush in the Autumn.

Anyway this is a shot of a new plant  Lythrum salicaria " Robert “ which I have to say I am very happy with . We changed the pond last year to create a tiny area of bog garden and the Lythrum  obviously loves it in the damp soil . The individual flowers are tiny but they are formed on short spikes and they show up quite well in the garden
