L'acqua è incredibilmente affascinante, per i suoi tanti aspetti.
È dolce, buona, disseta, accarezza, culla.
E al contempo è forte, devastante, rumorosa.
È come noi.

Ognuno di noi ha dentro tutte queste nature, ed è importante diventare sempre più consapevoli di questo.
L’essere umano è tanto capace di amore quanto di crudeltà.
E ogni giorno, in ogni gesto, può scegliere che tipo di umano essere.

Le brutture, le violenze, le ignoranze che ci circondano non sono frutto di “mostri” o solo di malattie mentali, come troppo spesso si tende a liquidare per prenderne le distanze.
Sono scelte.
Scelte individuali e non, troppo spesso collettivamente tollerate e condivise.

Tendiamo a normalizzare ciò che non è normale, per sentirci meno coinvolti.
Ci siamo staccati dalla natura.
Ci sentiamo invulnerabili al male.
Ci sentiamo potenti, in un mondo in cui stiamo solo prendendo.

Ma non è questa la strada verso un’umanità più consapevole e orientata al bene comune.
Non è questa l'intelligenza.


Water is incredibly fascinating, in all its many forms.
It is gentle, kind, it quenches, caresses, cradles.
And at the same time, it is strong, devastating, loud.
It is like us.

Each of us carries all these natures within, and it’s important to become increasingly aware of this.
The human being is as capable of love as of cruelty.
And every day, in every action, one can choose what kind of human to be.

The ugliness, the violence, the ignorance that surround us are not the result of “monsters” or merely mental illness, as we too often claim to distance ourselves from them.
They are choices.
Individual choices, and not only—too often collectively tolerated and shared.

We tend to normalize what is not normal, just to feel less involved.
We have become disconnected from nature.
We feel invulnerable to evil.
We feel powerful in a world where we are only taking.

But this is not the path toward a more conscious humanity, one that seeks the common good.
This is not intelligence.
