Sky Europe Airlines was Slovakia's first low cost carrier, founded in November 2001 and starting operations in February 2002.The initial fleet constisted of a number of Embraer Brasilias, like OM-SPY, which was built in 1988 for Westair, and acquired by Sky Europe on lease in early 2002.

OM-SPY was seen leaving runway 14 on Hotel 1, completing a scheduled service from Budapest, and showing the airline's distinctive blue, red and white colour scheme.

OM-SPY was returned to the lessor in 2005, after Sky Europe standardized on the Boeing 737. Later that year the carrier announced that its ticket prices were minus 10 koruna, becoming the first airline ever to pay people to fly with it. This model, however, did not survive, and it was no surprise that Sky Europe filed for bankruptcy in August 2009, and immediately ceased all operations.

OM-SPY was later converted to a freighter, and flew with Swfitair in Spain as EC-JKH from late 2005, and was withdrawn from use at Madrid in 2023, and scrapped there the same year.
