'The Witching Hour', Halloween in Savernake Forest

            Here is an image taken back in autumn. It was pretty early in the morning and I had not long arrived at Savernake Forest. I was making my way towards where I had planned to start photographing for the day in a secluded part of the forest and caught sight of this scene out the corner of my eye.

I will admit that it did make me jump. After I had recovered, I set up the tripod and took this image. In post I tried to add a fine art sort of look. Further up the track I found two or three more of these which did make me wonder what had gone on there the evening before.
