Aerial Drone View of Arch Rock and 'S' Bend, Cheddar Gorge, Cheddar, Somerset

            Very murky morning with mist filling the gorge when I arrived. After climbing up the west side of the gorge and trying to settle the dog down, I flew and recorded a video. While filming, the mist started to clear from the gorge. After the video, I started to take some images. A few minutes later, the rain started so I had to land the drone and pack it up. I managed to get a few nice shots though.

Cheddar Gorge is a limestone gorge in the Mendip Hills, near the village of Cheddar, Somerset, England. The gorge is the site of the Cheddar show caves, where Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be 9,000 years old, was found in 1903. Older remains from the Upper Late Palaeolithic era (12,000â€“13,000 years ago) have been found. The caves, produced by the activity of an underground river, contain stalactites and stalagmites. The gorge is part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest called Cheddar Complex.

The maximum depth of the gorge is 137 m (449 ft), with a near-vertical cliff-face to the south, and steep grassy slopes to the north. The B3135 road runs along the bottom of the gorge.
