Stormy Evening Light Dancing Across Loch Eil, Corpach, Fort William, Highlands, Scotland

            After a long drive up to Scotland and a night in a layby next to Loch Lomond, we travelled up the A82 through a very wet Glencoe. After passing through Fort William, we stopped into a campsite on the shores of Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil. This was our view as we looked out the door of the motorhome, simply stunning. After the rain that had plagued us all day, it was magical watching the light dance across Loch Eil that evening and the gentle ripples on the water was so calming.

Loch Eil (Scottish Gaelic, Loch Iall) is a sea loch in Lochaber, Scotland that opens into Loch Linnhe near the town of Fort William. Lochiel was a historic place east of Fassfern on the north shore of Loch Eil. The place was home to Jacobite chieftain Donald Cameron, of Lochiel. Remnant septs of Clan Chattan such as MacPhail remained in the area after the Clan mostly moved to Inverness. These MacPhails became part of Clan Cameron.
