A War Like Many Others - a photo on Flickriver

            Finding my city on Google Earth takes just a few seconds, and this is the reason: You can zoom out to a point where you see all of Europe and a majority of Asia, and you'll still be able to spot the Hambach mine as a small white dot standing out from the woods and fields of western Germany. 

You can take that to say, it's huge. At the same time, that also means the opposite. It's a hole about 5 kilometers across, the size of a small to medium sized city. One city. What is that really in the greater scheme of things. Just a tiny little white dot. It's the color that makes Hambach stand out, not the size.

My point is a different one though: It's a thin margin, somewhere between 52 and 55 percent. And it only really seems to hold true since the 20th century roundabout. But nonetheless: Most wars are lost by the side who started them - just sayin'.

Which is also the reason why I can't stand the greens in the various shapes and flavors they come in, and the Greta Thunbergs of the world. One could call them traitors, one could call them redundant. They fight for an enemy who is already winning anyway, and much worse, they aim to take away everybody's freedoms in the process.

That doesn't mean I'm on the side of "humanity" in that sense though. It's a war between two factions I'm observing as neutral as I can manage, with no stakes in the outcome.
