            Preserved Mainline WU02KVV (2717) working the 500 on the Pennines Community Bus Day.

2717 was originally destined for Bristol and the West Country however, due to fleet shortages, was delivered to First (Mainline), now better known as First South Yorkshire, for use in Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley. The bus was originally numbered as 2717 however due to the First Numbering Scheme was then changed to 30577.
2717 spent all of it's working life in South Yorkshire on a variety of routes. Unlike other buses at the time it was kept in it's generic livery and not branded for a specific route. In 2012 the bus transferred from Sheffield to Rotherham after buses from Leeds were cascaded down, in Rotherham it operated a variety of routes and then transferred to Doncaster with the closure of First Rotherham. In Doncaster the bus was mainly to be found on the 87 & 88 routes, in it's new Olympia livery, until the bus was withdrawn in 2021. The bus had a major accident in 2011 and was subsequently rebuilt at the front, it’s also had a full engine replacement (2018) and repairs to the gearbox, despite this it continued in service until 2021.

In January 2021 the bus was withdrawn and entered preservation and was re-liveried into a “what would’ve been” Mainline livery, which it still wears to this day. Now lovingly preserved by the 2717 Preservation Group the bus continues to be well maintained at SYTT's Eastwood site.
