Album VII, 9a: entrenament dins el RAD / RAD military training

Aquesta fotografia forma part d'un album realitzat per un membre de les divisions panzer de la Wehrmacht abans i durant la II Guerra Mundial. Sembla que la divisió en questió era la 3a Panzer. Sembla que el seu nom era Helmut Guhl i era de Berlin.

Ja el 4 d'abril del 1938 entrà al Reicharbeitdienst (RAD), la organització de treball militaritzat nazi, previa al propi servei militar. Aquí eren també fortament adoctrinats en el nazisme.

A mig servei del RAD fou traslladat des de Silesia al altre extrem d'Alemania, a Oberarnbach, al Palatinat. Allà hi havia aquest campament del que sembla que no en queda cap rastre. Com ell mateix diu a la pàgina on hi ha aquesta foto, ara ja feien "arbeit und dienst", es a dir treball i servei (militar). És obvi que la preparació militar ja començava al RAD, i molt abans i tot. Curiosament, però, aquí porten, apart de fusells, cascos de la Luftwaffe, i no del exèrcit de terra. Es interesant que els fusells tenen els panys del mecanisme similars al antic Gewehr 98 de la Gran Guerra, i no com els del Kar98k usual a la Wehrmacht.

This photograph is part of an album made by a member of the Wehrmacht's panzer divisions before and during World War II. It appears that the division in question was the 3rd Panzer. His name was Helmut Guhl and was from Berlin.

On April 4, 1938, he entered the Reicharbeitdienst (RAD), the Nazi militarized labor organization, prior to his own military service. Here they were also strongly indoctrinated in Nazism.

While serving in the RAD he leaved Silesia and was transfered to Oberambach, near the Saar. There was this camp of wich nothing remains today. It's quite clear how the military training began in the RAD and even much before, in the Hitlerjugend. Here they are using bolt action rifles , but Luftwaffe decalled steel helmets. The rifles may be not the usual Kar98k, as they have straigh bolts, like the older Gewehr 98.
