Le cheval de Camargue - a photo on Flickriver

            Le Camargue est une race de petits chevaux de selle rustiques à la robe grise, originaire de la région du même nom, dans le Sud de la France au niveau du delta du Rhône, sur les départements du Gard et des Bouches-du-Rhône. Ce cheval vit traditionnellement en liberté dans ses marais d'origine. Son origine reste mystérieuse, bien qu'il soit considéré comme l'une des plus anciennes races du monde.

The Camargue is a breed of small, grey-haired, hardy saddle horses from the region of the same name in the south of France, in the Rhône delta, in the Gard and Bouches-du-Rhône départements. This horse traditionally lives free in its native marshes. Its origins remain a mystery, although it is considered to be one of the oldest breeds in the world.
