Story of friendship / Une histoire d'amitié

            My husband was always fond of Orchids and purchased this one some years ago. When time came to return to Australia, the plant had no more flowers but still had healthy leaves and we decided to give it to a nice neighbour, who knew how to make them flower again. Six months later, when we came back to Quiberon, a knock on the door : it was the nice neighbour we befriended, with our blooming Orchid ! Since then, every year we enjoyed this very pretty Moth Orchid with flowers... and gave it back naked to her ! This year being my very last one in Quiberon, the Orchid we shared for so long will be hers forever. /

Mon mari a toujours adoré les Orchidées, sans doute parce qu'il avait passé toute sa jeunesse à La Réunion entouré de ces fleurs. Il y a quelques années, il a acheté celle-ci. Lorsque vint le moment de regagner l'Australie, la plante n'avait plus de fleurs mais ses feuilles étaient très saines et nous avons décidé de la donner à une gentille voisine qui sait comment les faire refleurir. Six mois plus tard, nous sommes de retour et entendons frapper à la porte : c'était notre gentille voisine, avec l'Orchidée en fleurs dans la main, venue nous souhaiter la bienvenue ! Depuis, chaque année nous avons pu profiter de cette belle Phalaenopsis fleurie... pour ensuite la rendre nue à la gentille voisine devenue notre amie !
Cette année étant la toute dernière que je passerai à Quiberon, l'Orchidée que nous avons si longtemps partagée deviendra sienne à jamais.
