Class B1 locomotive, No.61313, of Rotherham Canklow M.P.D., Shed No.41D, built by the North British Locomotive Company Ltd, Glasgow, in 1948, is seen here, standing at Platform No.5, at Sheffield Midland Station, on 29/05/1965.
Built by North British Locomotive Company Ltd, Glasgow, to Order No.L963, and to Works No.26214, in 1948, as Class B1, for British Railways, and delivered, new, on 27/04/1948, as No.61313, to Gorton M.P.D., (Shed Code GOR). The locomotive was transferred, from Gorton M.P.D., (Shed Code GOR), to Sheffield Darnall M.P.D., (Shed No.SHF), on 03/10/1948, and from there, to Rotherham Canklow M.P.D., (Shed No.41D), on 16/06/1963, and from there, to Langwith Junction M.P.D., (Shed No.41J), on 13/06/1965. Here, the locomotive would remain, until withdrawn from service, on 14/11/1965. It is recorded that following withdrawal from service, that the locomotive remained in-storage, and out of use, at Langwith Junction M.P.D., (Shed No.41J), until it was despatched for disposal and it is recorded as arriving at the premises of Hughes, Bolckow, and Company Limited, North Blyth, on 15/01/1966, and that it was scrapped on-site there, shortly thereafter.
