CAI1016-SW-1961, B.R. Class 03, 'Jim', (formerly B.R. No.D2373, formerly 'Dawn No.10), at Manvers Colliery & Coal Preparation Plant, Wath-on-Dearne-22-08-1969

            Built by British Railways, Swindon Locomotive Works, in 1961, as Class 03, and delivered new, to Birmingham Edge Hill M.P.D., (Shed No.8A), as No.D2373, on 02/08/1961. The locomotive was transferred to Longsight M.P.D., (Shed No.9A), on 01/10/1966, and from there, to Newton Heath M.P.D., (Shed No.9D), on 20/04/1968, and from where, it was officially withdrawn from service, by British Railways, on 11/05/1968. It is believed to have been purchased by the National Coal Board, and allocated to Manvers Main Colliery, in September 1968. Following extended spells, at both Barnburgh Colliery, and at Wath Colliery, the locomotive returned, to Manvers Main Colliery, in November 1978, where it would be scrapped, on-site, by Ernest Northcliffe and Son Ltd, between March 1982, and March 1983.
