The European Starling is considered a nuisance species in many places. They often travel in enormous flocks (called 'murmurations'), posing dangers to air travel, disrupting cattle operations, chasing off native birds, and roosting on city blocks. Their corrosive droppings also damage paint, plastic, stone, metal & masonry. All told, they cause hundreds of millions of dollars of damage every year...

But on the other hand, they have a pretty cool song! Vocally, they are incredible mimics. Their voice has this spooky alien-like quality to it. It's almost like a synthesiser, or R2D2.
