Snow Gums on the Bogong High Plains - a photo on Flickriver

            Late afternoon sun illuminating the bark on snow gums in the Victorian Alps fifty years ago.  

The Eucalyptus pauciflora, commonly known as snow gum, cabbage gum or white sally, grows at altitudes from 700m to above 1500m in the Australian Alps. The higher they grow, the more bent and twisted they become.
