Boats Waiting for Sailors - a photo on Flickriver

            Boats are designed to challenge the sea, to ride on the crest of waves oblivious to the deep blue mystery of the ocean stretching far beneath their vision.  

The Boats in Deep Cove long for those days when they can shake off the barnacles and explore the seven seas where  the world stretches forever.

But today as I walked along the shore, I couldn't help but notice dozens of sailors washed ashore, staring longingly at their friends bobbing alone and chained to the docks ... 

Yet the boats don't seem to mind.  They appear to be resting in a peaceful silence, but knowing boats from personal experience, they are probably boasting about their exploits and days of bravado when they were the captains and commanded their sailors to take them wherever they will ... and boy did they sail those seas of high adventure!
