***Burano Daydream (100) - a photo on Flickriver

            It’s always nice to return to the beautiful island of Burano ... even if only for a warm daydream on a cold winters day.

It was late afternoon and the colours were sweetening into the golden hour.   After a complete day of walking, relaxing and enjoying the laid back scenery, it was time to head back to the heady buzz of Venice at night. :)

The Island of Burano is as close to Venice as Second Cousins and that is only because Murano is the First.

Burano is bright and full of rich colour and equally brimming with canals yet it is almost an hour from Venice by ferry and so it is quiet, peaceful yet full of Aegean Charm.

Each house is painted a bright, yet different, colour so the fisher can find his way home to the beloved ones.

Here is an island with everything and yet is alone with it's splendour.  

When one marries, they choose someone from the island because how would anyone else understand?

Beautiful, sweet and full of rich life.  Here is where the boats quiver whenever the fish arrive ...
